Prince Ice World in Kumamoto
Prince Ice World," a full-scale figure skating show, landed in Kumamoto Prefecture for the first time over two days on January 21 (Sat.) and 22 (Sun.), 2017.
The skate show, featuring gorgeous and diverse skaters, attracted more than 13,000 spectators for a total of four performances in two sessions, day and night, on both days.
The event brought smiles and excitement to Kumamoto Prefecture, which was devastated by the April 2016 earthquake.
The Kumamoto show will feature Japan's only professional figure skating team (about 30 members in total), the Prince Ice World Team, Olympic gold medalist Shizuka Arakawa, Takeshi Honda, Nobunari Oda, and Miki Ando, who also performed at the Beppu show, and the notable performers Shoma Uno and Shinba Higuchi, who are scheduled to participate in the World Championships in March 2017. Shoma Uno and Shinba Higuchi, active skaters Takahito Murakami, Kanako Murakami, and Marin Honda, as well as special guests Mochiyui Honda (only on 22nd) and Sarai Honda (only on 21st) from the popular Honda family, and many professional and active skaters.
Charity appearances by Kumamoto-born artist Chisato Moritaka and a surprise guest appearance by Kumamon attracted a great deal of attention.
Since the theme of this year's event was "J-POPS," many familiar songs were used, making it easy for figure skating novices to get acquainted with the music, and a world of music fantasy unfolded where the performers and the audience synchronized with the famous songs.
The subtitle of the event was ”Bringing Smiles and Inspiration to Kumamoto. The event, subtitled ”Bringing Smiles and Inspiration to Kumamoto," was designed to "bring dreams and excitement to the children who bear the future," and on Friday, January 20, a skating class by professional skaters was held for 70 children selected from approximately 1,300 participants.
In addition, all 470 students of Akuta Higashi Elementary School in Kumamoto City were invited to the open rehearsal, and approximately 1,000 children and elderly people mainly from the affected areas in Kumamoto Prefecture (Kumamoto City, Mashiki Town, Nishihara Village, and Minamiaso Village) were invited to the main performance. The performance not only brought smiles to the children's faces, but also gave them great dreams and hopes for the future.
ACOON HIBINO's "You Raise Me Up" was used as the commercial song, and "~528Hz Frequency of Love~" was used as the background music during the opening, intermission, and closing of the show, creating a friendly atmosphere at the venue. The venue was filled with a friendly mood. (The audience was in a friendly mood.)
One of the highlights of the performance was a charity appearance by Chisato Moritaka, an artist from Kumamoto Prefecture. The surprise guest "Kumamon" appeared in the program and collaborated with Chisato Moritaka, which was also a big hit.
In addition, one of the major features of Prince Ice World, "Touching Time," in which the audience could hand bouquets of flowers directly to the guests and cast members after the show, was a perfect service, as they posed for the audience's requests and engaged in conversation with the fans.
The skating rink used for the performance is,
Tuesday, January 24 - Friday, January 27, 13:00 - 19:30
Saturday, January 28, 10:00-19:30
Sunday, January 29, 10:00-17:00
It was opened to the public free of charge during the above period and became a place for citizens to relax.

Message
Japan is an earthquake-prone country, and our daily lives are always next to disasters. Kumamoto suffered great damage in 2016. In response to this, I myself created the official theme song of Beppu Onsen to support the people of Beppu through music. I hope that figure skating and relaxing 528Hz music will give the people of Kumamoto great dreams, hope, and peace of mind as they look toward the future. Please overcome the disaster with a positive and strong heart! One heart, one mind!
